Sharon's Wiki Page
This wiki is mainly to house my novel as I work on it. The novel is currently titled Fox's Run. It is a young adult novel about a young girl that leaves her abusive extended family, that didn't seem to want her around anyway. She goes in search of a life among the people she had spent time with as a young child with her now deceased parents and grandfather. It is set in a different world that is almost medieval. There are bits of magic or the supernatural at work, but it is not an overwhelming presence in the story.
chapters as they stand now. I am reay to share. It is still unfinished, and a work in process. Jon saw some odd bird behavior that led him to the clearing as well. That was why I thought it was because of you, or something about the clearing. Maybe its nothing to do with either of us." If my great grandparents could talk to me mind-to-mind, then maybe they were controlling the animals as a second guard for me, or more likely someone with abilities other than something we could define was out there controlling them, watching us. That thought caused me to shudder. What were we doing that would be interesting enough to watch? Unless more people in Marcus's family think I might be the next link in the chain of abilities. I didn't like that idea at all, but I kept the continually worsening theories to myself.
Marcus shrugged, obviously considering my suggestion that someone other than us was pulling the strings of our ani

"I came into the woods a day behind you, but I seem to have found you much sooner than I expected. I was just stumbling along in the woods, not stopping for long anywhere to rest, when a crazy bird started fluttering around my head. It squawked and pecked at me anytime it didn't like the direction I was heading. It apparently was leading me to this clearing, because as soon as I knelt by the brook it landed on my shoulder, rubbed against the side of my face, and then joined the other birds that were in the trees around the clearing. It was odd, but at least I found you. I knew you would head for the mountains, since no one else would go there, not even to follow someone." Jon reached out a hand, and touched my shoulder. "I'm glad you're alright, and that we are together." Then he took the fish from me and practically ran ahead of me into the clearing, trying to hide the blush that colored his face at his admission.
As I stood there staring after Jon, completely amazed by everything he h

The walls in the sleeping chamber had soothing visions of a multitude of animals and people working together in colors that gave the impression of peace and friendship. There was no fear or blood shown anywhere in those works of art, just friendship and understanding. There were some images of couples embracing or walking side by side, but nothing that made my blush.
In the chamber with all the storage there was artwork depicting the gathering of supplies by people and animals alike. Squirrels scurrying and people working to make jams or preserves. In the main chamber were murals that looked like they told some of the tales Grandmother had told me. There was the tale of Raphael and young Michelle, fighting off frighten people when they took their animal forms for the first time. Over by the door was the story that Grandmother had told about Gareth and Lisbeth, my great grandparents that just might be able to help me. The paintings show star crossed lovers conquering all with their love for each other, desp

It was that thought, and the notion that the villagers might eventually send some people here to make sure their work was done, that finally got me moving. Just as I turned and was about to leave I saw a glimmer in the rubble where Grandmother's dresser had been. I bent down and shifted through the ashes a bit to see what might have survived the fire. Half buried in ash and soot was a stone, nearly identical to the one I always wore. Except that it was green rather than the blue of my stone. A few more tears fell, despite my struggles to keep them at bay. I picked up the stone and as I did the cord that had once held it fell away to join the rest of the destruction on the floor. Gently, I removed the cord holding the stone from around my neck and added Grandmother's stone to rest next to mine before returning the cord to my neck. Ignoring the hot tears that silently rolled down my face I said my goodbyes to my home, Grandmother, and the only life I had ever known. For her I would be strong and try to be as lo

Moving out of what had once been my room, I moved to Grandmother's room. Looking around at the space that had once been Grandmother's sanctuary I finally let some of the tears I had been fighting fall. Her room was completely gone, destroyed. Her rocking chair, the bookcase overflowing with beautiful tomes of knowledge and stories, the paintings from her parents were all destroyed. The fire must have been started closest to her room, which made a sad sort of sense. The villagers had done this out of fear and anger directed firmly at Grandmother, so of course they would concentrate on her room. I tried not to dwell in the horror of the facts and to get moving again, but it was so hard. Grandmother wanted nothing more from her life than to help people and live in peace. She only used her knowledge and little magic to help other people, never for her own gain or to hurt people. All that goodness and caring had gotten her killed, and everything she had owned destroyed.
It was that thought, and the notion that
